This BBC News article introduces an Albanian chemist-cum-philosopher who is now producing the first translations of Bertrand Russell in Albanian. Though philosophy was his first love, he became a chemist for political reasons – and still got ten years in a brick factory for his trouble. He now assesses the levels of toxicity in Albanian rubbish dumps – so there’s hope for us all!
